File transfer update

Hello!

Marquis is moving to a new file transfer solution. It will continue to be accessible over the Web when you occasionally need to upload or download a file from your Web browser. That said, it will continue to be accessible over the SFTP protocol, that can be used with your existing FTP file transfer applications, such as WinSCP, Transmit, FileZilla, Cyberduck, and so many others. Please note: the old unsafe FTP protocol and its FTPS variant are no longer supported.

The new service’s Web page is here:
https://sftp.marquisbook.com

Connecting for the first time with your new account

Even though you may be planning to use specialized file transfer software, you must access the above Web page at least twice to activate your new account:

  1. Browse to the above Web site and enter your temporary password; follow the instructions to change it. Please write down your new password, as we will not know what it is. Then click “Logout” in the “File Manager” menu.
  2. Log in with the new password you’ve chosen and choose two security questions along with their answers. These do not need to be real answers, as long as you take note of them.

Dedicated file transfer software

When accessing the server using file transfer software such as an FTP client, make sure you use the SFTP protocol (SSH File Transfer Protocol). The host name (or server name) is: sftp.marquisbook.com

When connecting to the server for the first time using SFTP, make sure you’re using the latest version of your application. The application will display what’s called a “fingerprint” to allow you to make sure you are connecting to the correct server. This fingerprint will look like one of the two lines below. As long as one of them matches what you see in your application, you know you’re connecting to Marquis’s server.
