Evolution

I started in a challenging role at Webcom as a project manager. I learned new things about book printing, from setting up a run table for offset printing to figuring out ribbons or plows for digital printing to estimate the size of cartons for shipping finished books. Learning new things while enjoying and embracing change builds my passion as a CSR. I utilize it through supporting our customers at its best from front to back end.

Evolution

I faced a huge challenge when I started working at Marquis because I had no printing experience. I learned a lot about the trade and I’m still learning. I started as a bindery assistant and was promoted to laminator operator and assistant press operator on the sheet press fairly quickly. Today, I’m still working on the laminator and I really enjoy operating it.

What I like at Marquis

Marquis is expanding rapidly and there are lots of opportunities. On 12-hour shifts like mine, we work three days a week. That gives me four days off every week, and I love it! Also, the wages are very competitive!

Evolution

Marquis – Webcom played a big role in what I have accomplished so far in my career. I started off as a Project Manager at Webcom in 2015 when I was a fresh new graduate from the Ryerson Graphic Communications Management program.
I received the opportunity to rejoin Marquis – Webcom in 2019 as a Team Lead in the Toronto Customer Support Department, leaping forward in a career path focused on people and process management.

I’m very excited to say my role evolved once again, and I’m now a Customer Support Representative – Process SME, allowing me to further shape my career path for process management and contribute to the organization in a larger, more meaningful way.

Evolution

I started out in the print shop as a bindery assistant. Over the years, I progressed to packing machine operator, three-sided knife and, today, gluing machine operator. I also head up a binding line. To develop and hone my skills, I listened to sound advice from experienced operators.
